Laurie L. Dove is the author of MASK OF THE DEER WOMAN (Berkley/Penguin Random House). Her career as a reporter, editor and professor has garnered honors for outstanding journalism and leadership. She is currently writing the sequel to her debut novel. Dove, who is of Indigenous heritage, was adopted and raised outside the community of her birth, and often explores themes of identity, belonging and social justice in her work. Dove earned a master’s degree in Creative Writing and Literature from Harvard University. She is a former councilwoman and mayor who lives and writes in Kansas.
