Tanya McCoy

Tanya McCoy has been a traditionally published author since 2010, when she published her first picture children’s book. In 2015, she published her first book with Arcadia Publishing in the adult nonfiction genre. Since then, she has authored and co-authored ten books with Arcadia Publishing in the adult nonfiction genre and the middle-grade genre. Her books include Haunted Guthrie, Oklahoma; Haunted Canadian County; Haunted El Reno, Oklahoma; Haunted Shawnee, Oklahoma; Haunted Oklahoma City; Haunted Route 66, Oklahoma; Spooky America’s Haunted Oklahoma City; Spooky America’s Haunted Route 66, Oklahoma; and Spooky America’s Haunted Texas Route 66


Tanya  McCoy has been interested in the paranormal since she saw her first full-body apparition in her own home at the young age of six. She started her research in the paranormal field around 2001 and joined a paranormal investigation team around 2008. She started her own paranormal investigation team, the Oklahoma Paranormal Association (OPA), in 2011.  She has a bachelor’s degree in Parapsychology, and she continues to research and teach in the field.  She has been featured on My Ghost Story, Paranormal 911, and Haunted Hospitals on the Syfy Channel and the Travel Channel, as well as many articles, podcasts, and news casts. She enjoys doing background acting jobs for major motion pictures. Aside from investigating the paranormal, Tanya has been a pediatric nurse for the past twenty-nine years and works with special needs children. She is currently working towards her master’s degree in history and her minor in creative writing. She is continuing to add to her book series, which will focus on her two favorite topics, history and the paranormal. She is currently working on a fiction mystery novel, several children’s books, a metaphysical collection, and a true crime book of historic significance.
