Faith Phillips

Faith Phillips is a Cherokee novelist, screenwriter, and series creator, writing on location in the Ozark foothills. She’s responsible for inventing the sub-genre known as Okie Noir. Phillips created and executive produced the national docu-series The Girl Scout Murders, filmed in the Cherokee Nation in 2022.

HULU and Stanley Nelson’s Firelight Films selected her third book, Now I Lay Me Down, for limited series development alongside Pursuit Films. Faith has also developed an unprecedented docu-series called Missing & Murdered with Texas Crew Productions. Told from the indigenous perspective, M&M is designed to bring attention and resources to stalled MMIR cases. Native American Media Alliance previously selected Phillips as a fellow for their feature film, unscripted, and TV Writer’s Labs.

Faith serves on the Board of the Cherokee Film Commission and is the Executive Director of the non-profit initiative, Beyond the Trail Cultural District.
