Writing Severus Snape "in character" can be a challenge, mainly because everybody seems to have a different version of what is "in character" for Severus Snape. I offer my own ideas about the canon character, give an overview of fanon versions that don't work for me, and open the floor for discussion of our Personal Snapes.
